Vols to open season with Fall exhibition game

After claiming the program's first College World Series title in 2023, the Tennessee Volunteers baseball team released its 2024 schedule on Wednesday. The Vols will open the season with a pair of fall exhibition games before opening the regular season in February.

Tennessee will play Virginia Tech on Oct. 28 at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The Vols will then travel to Knoxville, Tenn., to face ETSU on Nov. 4 at Smokies Stadium.

The Vols will open the regular season on Feb. 17 at home against Indiana State. Tennessee will then play a three-game series against Georgia Southern from Feb. 24-26.

Tennessee will play its first SEC series of the season at home against Alabama from March 22-24.

Tennessee will close out the regular season with a three-game series at home against Vanderbilt from May 16-18.

The SEC Tournament will be held from May 21-27 at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, Ala.

The NCAA Tournament will begin on June 1.

Tennessee is coming off a historic season in which the Vols went 57-9 and won the program's first College World Series title. The Vols defeated Texas A&M 6-5 in the championship game.

Tennessee is expected to be one of the top teams in the country again in 2024. The Vols return several key players from last year's team, including All-Americans Drew Gilbert and Jorel Ortega.
